After a long period of time spent next
to a laptop or a paper and pencil, you need a break. My favorite holiday
during the year is the summer holiday. I like it because during this time,
you forget about your work or school. Also, I like it because you can meet with
your friends or relatives. Lastly, you get a chance to do and go wherever you
desire and do things which you like. You can go to sea or if you prefer, you
can visit a country in which you never went to. Another option is to go to a
mountain, if you like to work with cattle or if you like meadows and forests.
During the summer holiday, you
know it is the end of the work year or the school year. You can forget about
all your business partners or (if you are not one) your boss. For you students
reading this, you can forget about all your schoolbooks and your teachers.
(Except if you have a teacher in your family) Also, you can forget one person
which I think nobody likes in their school
days, the director, which leads you to his office and gives you a boring
lecture about what you should not do in school. But, hardly anyone thinks about
school during this time. You have other nice thoughts in your mind. For
example, you might think about what you are going to do that night. Are you
going to meet up with your friends and go out? Or, you are going to go to a
nice restaurant with your family. Or, if you are that type, you will just stay
home, have a bite, and sit and watch the TV. The third reason is that you have
so much activities to do, apart from thinking about school. For example, you
want to jump in the water and take a dive or two. Or, you want to visit some
interesting sights.
While the summer holiday lasts, you usually
see your friends and relatives. It
is a time to find out what is new in the lives of your friends and family. What
did they do during the past year, how do they feel and other things you want to
know about them. During the summer holiday, you usually meet some new people
and even you can make friends. Usually, everybody spends the summer holiday
with someone. And it is a great chance you don’t know these people. Why not
meet them? They might make good company. If you are a kid, there are a lot of
kids who travel. They might be your type. Meet them. Especially, if you are
alone stuck with some boring adults who just sit in a café and talk, talk,
talk. It is especially irritating if that café is next to the sea and it is hot
outside. If you have someone your age which you meet, you can call them to come
and you can go to the water together.
Lastly, you can do things
you enjoy. Everybody finds something fun to do during the
summer holiday. For example, I think the best thing to do during the summer
holiday is to go to the seaside and spend as many time as possible in the
water. But, some people do not like going to the seaside. If you are one of
them, there are two other good type of activities to spend your summer on. You
might go to a country where you didn’t go before, or revisit some other country
and visit attractions that might be found there. For example, if you are in Paris,
you should certainly go visit the Eifel Tower or Disneyland, especially if you
have a little kid. It is one of the rare things they might enjoy in Paris. The
third thing you might do, which is for me, the worst way to spend the summer
holiday is to stay in your own country. This is not so fun because most of the
people go to another country so you are alone.
To recap my whole essay, I think the best holiday is the summer holiday.
I like it because you know that all your duties are over and that you can
relax. Also, you meet up with some of the friends and relatives which you do
not usually see during the rest of the year. Lastly, it is a time to do fun
activities. For example, you can go to the seaside, or you can visit a country
which you never visited before or revisit a country or place which you like.
Or, if you are that type of person you can stay at home.
